Section 1. Programming Foundations with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
Week 1: Rhino Fundamentals
You’ll begin with the fundamentals of Rhino, focusing on understanding the interface, command workflows, and core geometry creation. This week covers navigation, transformation tools, and NURBS-based modeling basics. You’ll also learn curve creation, control points, trimming, and projection techniques. By the end of the week, you’ll be comfortable working with basic forms and preparing models for further surface development.
Week 2: Rhino Surfacing & Advanced Modeling
This week dives deeper into surface modeling and advanced operations in Rhino. You’ll learn lofting, extrusion, sweeps, and revolve techniques to create complex geometries. Additional topics include blending, boolean operations, contour tools, and symmetry. You’ll also explore layer management, analysis tools, and start working on product and architectural modeling workflows.
Week 3: Rhino Advanced Tools & Project Work
In this phase, you’ll focus on advanced Rhino tools such as flow along surfaces, paneling, cage editing, and extracting 2D drawings. You’ll apply your knowledge to real-world modeling scenarios, including furniture and architectural elements. The week concludes with practice sessions and guided project work to strengthen your modeling confidence.
Grasshopper
Week 4: Grasshopper Fundamentals
You’ll be introduced to Grasshopper’s interface and visual scripting environment. This week focuses on data structures, sequences, mathematical components, and transformation tools. You’ll also learn list management, basic algorithms, and logic operations such as conditional statements and attractor systems to control design behavior.
Week 5: Grasshopper Surface Logic & Pattern Systems
This week focuses on applying parametric logic to surfaces. You’ll explore surface analysis, curvature evaluation, and B-rep workflows. Topics include domain control, morphing, and generating repetitive and non-repetitive patterns. By the end of this week, you’ll be able to create responsive and data-driven design systems.
Week 6: Advanced Grasshopper & Plugins + Final Output
In the final week, you’ll work with advanced tools like Delaunay meshes, metaballs, and image sampling. You’ll also explore plugins such as Lunchbox, Parakeet, Elk, and Ladybug for environmental analysis and façade optimization. The course concludes with final workflows, project refinement, and doubt-clearing sessions to prepare you for real-world applications.
